SURVEYS ARE SCHOOL’S MECHANISMS FOR EVALUATING YOUR FAMILY
In addition to Social Emotional Learning, and again, instead of teaching reading, writing and math, the district is using student educational time to administer lengthy surveys filled with invasive questions such as:
Do your parents have guns at home?
Do your parents tell you they are proud of you?
Do your parents drink alcohol?
These surveys plant seeds that aim to divide families; to reinforce that schools are the best parents. Currently, Scottsdale administers surveys based on an “opt-OUT” option. If your child stuffs the permission slip in his backpack and forgets, your parental rights are lost. I will fight for parents to have access to review and opt-IN to all surveys.
